St. Louis Warrant Amnesty Day 2013

Posted on

If you have an outstanding warrant for a traffic ticket, unpaid child support, or other misdemeanor in the St. Louis metropolitan area, you may be able to get your warrant lifted during St. Louis Amnesty Days 2013 on August 3rd, August 7th, and August 10th at one of three St. Louis Community College locations.

How Much Will it Cost to Buy a Warrant Voucher at St. Louis Amnesty Days 2013?

If you attend St. Louis Amnesty Days, you will pay a $10 processing fee to receive a warrant cancellation voucher. The voucher will be good for only a certain period of time. Then you will take that voucher to the court that issued your warrant and pay a $100 bond to get your warrant lifted and obtain a new court date. At that point, you can decide whether to hire an attorney to represent you in court or appear in court to represent yourself.

Where Will the St. Louis Amnesty Days 2013 Event Be Held?

Which Courts Participate in the St. Louis Amnesty Days 2013?

Not all courts in the St. Louis metropolitan area will be participating in the 2013 Amnesty Days. Before you go to one of the community college locations listed above to purchase a warrant cancellation voucher, you should call the court that issued your warrant to confirm that the court is participating in the 2013 Amnesty Project. St. Louis City Municipal Court will participate, as well as many other municipal courts in St. Louis County.

To get a complete list of the courts that will be participating in the 2013 Amnesty Days in St. Louis, contact the Community Outreach Department of Better Family Life, Inc. at (314) 381-8200 or go to www.betterfamilylife.org.

You May Not Be Allowed to Get Your Warrant Lifted if You Have Already Appeared in Court

Please note:  If you have already appeared in court to plead guilty but you failed to pay the fine, then it may not be possible to get your warrant cancelled. Before buying the warrant cancellation voucher, you should call the court that issued your warrant to confirm that the warrant will be lifted if you buy the voucher and pay the $100 bond.

If you don’t want to buy a voucher or go to court, you can hire an attorney to lift your warrant for you. Call St. Louis traffic law attorney Andrea Storey Rogers at (314) 724-5059 or email Andrea at [email protected] to discuss your case and get a price quote for legal representation. In many cases, Andrea can lift your warrant and get your traffic ticket amended to a non-moving, no-point violation for a total fee of $150. You will have to pay a fine and court costs, but you won’t have to appear in court.
